Gandalf 給的智慧

魔戒雖然是本虛構小說, 但是其中的故事及人物智慧, 卻是帶給我們很大的影響.

面對生活的困境與情緒的困擾, 很多時候我們就像魔戒裡的Frodo會對Gandalf說
"I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."

但是有智慧的Gandalf會告訴我們
"So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

我想人生裡免不了遇到這些生命裡的磨練, 但是當這樣的時刻來臨時, 我們必須做的不是希望它們不曾發生, 而是學著當下去決定.
It takes me a hell of long time to realize this, but luckily I understand this before the end of my time.
